Summary
Mirth helps parents organise medical appointments by extracting details from photos of appointment letters. Your data stays on your device unless you choose to share it. We do not run ads or track you across apps.
What we collect
- User content you provide: photos/images of appointment letters (for text extraction), text notes, appointment details, and optional voice memos attached to an appointment.
- Diagnostics (optional): crash logs and performance metrics provided by Apple if you’ve opted in at the OS level.
- No account: Mirth does not require login or create an online profile.
How we use your data
- Core functionality: extract date, time, location, department and phone from an uploaded photo; organise visits into “Upcoming” and “Past”; enable quick Call and Directions; store notes and voice memos.
- Processing photos with an AI provider: To extract text from images, Mirth sends the image (or a derived version) to a third‑party processor (OpenAI) solely to provide this feature. They do not use your API data to train their models and retain it only as described in their policy.
- Maps & Calling: When you tap Directions we open Apple Maps with the clinic address. When you tap Call we ask iOS to place a telephone call to the clinic number.
Where your data lives & retention
- On your device: Appointment data, notes and voice memos are stored locally on your iPhone/iPad. We (the developers) cannot access it.
- Temporary processing: Images sent to the AI provider are transmitted securely and processed to return extracted text. We do not build profiles or sell your data.
- Retention: Your content remains until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Legal bases (UK/EU users)
- Performance of a contract / legitimate interests: To provide core app features you request.
- Consent: For optional permissions (Camera, Photo Library, Microphone, Location if enabled).
